How can I book an award winning self-catering property at Mains of Taymouth Country Estate & Golf Course?

How much deposit do I need to pay?
We require a 50% deposit to confirm the booking and the balance is payable 6 weeks before your arrival. If you are booking 12 months in advance we would require 25% at the time of booking, 25% in 6 months and then the outstanding balance 6 weeks prior to your arrival date. We accept all major credit cards but please be aware that there is a charge from 2%.
Why do I need cancellation insurance?
No one books a holiday thinking they will need to cancel it. Unfortunately sometimes things happen that may prevent you going away which is why we always recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance. Part of our booking conditions are that, once the booking deposit has been paid, you remain liable for the whole cost of the holiday. If your claim is covered by insurance, you will be able to claim back all the monies paid less the insurance premium and an admin fee of £35.00. Any cancellation made by the Client for whatever reason must be made in writing. Our staff will make every effort to re-let the cancelled holiday let but, failing this, the entire rental fee will be payable.
Can I bring a dog(s)?
Yes. With the exception of the first floor apartments at the Gallops, all our other properties accept two pets by prior arrangement. There is a charge of £5 per dog per night and we ask that you bring your own pets bedding & bowl. Please do not allow your pets into any bedrooms or onto any furniture and do not leave your pets unattended in the house at any time (in case they disturb other guests or cause damage to the property). Owners must keep their pets under strict control whilst on the Estate and clear all mess up. Dog mess can be out into the general waste at any bin point on the Estate. Is it possible to book single sex parties/parties of young people?
It is our policy not to encourage bookings for single sex parties and hen parties/stag nights. However, parties of golfers/groups of ladies after a chill out weekend, are occasionally accepted. Please explain your requirements to us before booking and we will be happy to discuss this with you. We will ask you to sign a same sex party terms & conditions on arrival.
The properties are fully equipped – do I need to bring anything?
All the linen, towels, dishcloths and tea towels are provided, salt and pepper, and enough complimentary travel size Highland Aromatic products for a day or two etc. We also provide an initial supply only of washing up liquid, dishwasher and washing machine tablets and 2 toilet rolls per bathroom. The Courtyard Shop supplies most day to day needs and Aberfeldy (6 miles) has a Co-op, a butcher, baker, newsagent, garage and range of other small shops. Please contact Reception while you are here if you have any problems finding what you need! We send you a list of the provisions we supply on your final payment but they can also be found on our website under each individual property.
Is Broadband/Wireless access available?
All our properties have free Wi-Fi, but please note that this is not 100% guaranteed. The Courtyard bar and restaurant also has free Wi-Fi access.
Can I choose my bed configuration?
In some properties such as Farmhouse, Wester Bruadair, Mains Park Court, Granary Court, Smiddy Cottage, Archway Cottage, The Atrium, Capercaillie, Calm Waters, Schiehallion, Rivard, all Maxwell Villa’s and all Gallops Apartments have zip in link beds in some rooms that can be either king or twin. Please inform us prior to your arrival.
Can we smoke in the property?
No. We have a strictly No Smoking policy in all our holiday accommodation.
What time do I arrive and depart the property?
Arrival time is 4pm and departure time is by 10am. We can allow earlier entry or late departure between November to end of March (off peak season) ONLY if the property is not a changeover, but please contact us prior to your arrival about this.
Do we have a Hot Tub?
Yes - if you booked a property with a Hot Tub! Our hot tubs are drained, cleaned and water replenished prior to each arrival. If your property is a changeover then this may mean that your hot tub will not be ready for use until the morning after arrival.
Do we have a swimming pool?
Unfortunately not but a fantastic new pool on the Breadalbane Community Campus in Aberfeldy (6 miles), as well as a climbing wall, sports hall and multi-gym. The lovely sandy bay in Kenmore is ideal for safe swimming and paddling when the weather permits.
Do we have a restaurant?
Yes! The Courtyard bar and restaurant is on site and is a lovely place to eat or relax with a drink. For the winter times we have the log burning stoves and for the better weather an outside decking area for eating and drinking al fresco! There is also a good choice of other eating establishments within easy reach.
Is Reception open at the weekends?
Yes. We are open 9am – 5pm, 7 days a week.
Do guests get a discount on Mains of Taymouth Golf Course?
Yes. From 1st April to 31st October, our holiday house are charged £10.00 per person per day which entitles you to unlimited golf! Trolleys, buggies & clubs can be hired at an additional charge. From 1st November to 31st March, our guests can enjoy free winter golf, subject to weather conditions.
Do you have allergen free pillows and duvets?
Yes, but please request this at the time of booking as this is subject to availability.
Do any of your houses have disabled access?
Many of our houses have a ground floor bedroom and toilet for disabled access. Please call our office who can give you more information. The Gallops apartments offer ground floor accommodation & The White House has an internal lift but no properties have hand/grab rails.
Do we have a BBQ?
All the properties EXCEPT Maxwell Villa’s & Gallops Apartments have gas or charcoal bbq’s which are available between April to end of October and only request out with this time.
What happens if I leave an item of clothing/valuables behind?
Whilst every effort is made to return lost property to its rightful owner Taymouth Holiday Centre cannot be held liable for items left behind, damaged in storage or lost in transit. Please contact us as soon as possible if you think you have left anything behind. We hold lost property for 1 month then dispose. Should you wish your item to be returned we kindly request that the cost of postage be paid for in advance. All perishable foods, including frozen items, are automatically disposed of at the departure day/time of changeover.
