watersports & rafting in perthshire

A number of companies throughout Highland Perthshire offer the ultimate 'thrill' experience - white water rafting on the mighty River Tay. From beginners to the most experienced rafters, there's a stretch to suit you on a river that's considered by many to be the best in Britain for this activity. River outings to suit all tastes and abilities. With further rock and water-based activities, it cannot fail to entertain the thrill-seeker.

Locally based ‘Splash’ rafting – provide r afting, river bugs, duckies, canyoning, abseil/rap jump, bridge swing, splash day, splash ultimate whitewater, splash wet wet wet, splash awesome foursome, splash week, whitewater kayak course, advanced whitewater kayak course, whitewater international holidays and expeditions – have we forgotten anything??

For the fishing enthusiast – the River Tay is immortal. Enjoy ‘ Upper Tay’ fishing at its best here. The River Tay is deemed to start 100m above the bridge at nearby Kenmore as it flows out of Loch Tay. The River Tay is famous salmon fishing, but brown trout and coarse fish can also give great sport. The official opening of the Tay salmon fishing season, is held here locally each year, at Kenmore.

Nearby Loch Tay offers excellent salmon trout pike and charr fishing. And a wealth of watersports too, including canoeing, paragliding, rafting, yachting and pleasure boating. There are three main centres on the Loch: Croft-na-Caber water sports centre, Highland Lodges and the Loch Tay Boating Centre. Cruises on Loch Tay are usually available from Kenmore during the summer.
