Location
Mains of Taymouth Country Estate & Golf Course is a private Estate nestled by the delightful little conservation village of Kenmore and magnificent Loch Tay in Highland Perthshire, deep within Rob Roy and Campbell country and bordered by the Tay Forest Park on one side and the River Tay on the other.
Built in the 19th Century and formerly the home farm for Taymouth Castle, the
stunning courtyard buildings themselves have been tastefully converted into award winning luxury
self-catering holiday cottages, amongst the finest to be found anywhere.
The Estate continues this
mould with Castle Gardens, a selection of award winning modern mews houses, the Bruadairs houses - three
magnificent large holiday houses, Gallops apartments and Maxwell villas, all built with the five star
quality you would expect at Mains of Taymouth Country Estate & Golf Course, Scotland.
With the fabulous Mains of Taymouth Courtyard right on your doorstep –
complete with Courtyard Brasserie & Bar and high quality retail shop with
delicatessen and with our own Mains of Taymouth Golf Course known as ‘Perthshire’s
finest 9 holes’, all amidst
Highland Perthshire’s finest scenery, these facilities all
contribute to making
Mains of Taymouth Country Estate the perfect holiday destination.

Getting to Kenmore is easy, being the “Heart of Scotland” and it is close to the well known towns of Aberfeldy and Pitlochry. Pitlochry has a good bus service and railway station with regular bus/train connections to Aberfeldy as well as to Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness – with frequent daily services from Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports (1 hours 45 minutes) to all London airports.
However, please note that we strongly advise you not to follow directions after leaving Crieff which require you to turn left in the village of Amulree. This brings you onto an unclassified single track hill road which can be extremely hazardous in poor weather conditions. Instead, continue past Amulree on the A822 signposted to Aberfeldy. When you enter Aberfeldy, turn left at the traffic lights and the village of Kenmore is six miles on.
A good local taxi firm in Aberfeldy is provided by
David McDougall of
Aberfeldy Taxis, 01887 820 370.
